New bass drum hoops?

I'm thinking about getting black sparkle hoops for my bass on my white sparkle kit.

What do you guys think?

From ten feet away, you won't be able to distinguish if they are black sparkle or black paint.

Wouldn't be a fan personally.

Well, its not specifically that I want the sparkle to be present. I just think I might like the contrast. But I'm just kicking the idea around.

I vote for white sparkle. Black hoops would look--well, odd. Black hoops with a white sparkle inlay, well maybe.

It would be pretty much just for you, right? I mean, you can't really see much of the hoops from the audience and, what the audience CAN see, is just part of the front hoop. Therefore, if YOU think it would be cool and the money's no issue, go for it.

If it's contrast you want, natural gloss maple would look great.

I think it's a good idea. similar to the snare I'm planning on building one of these days.

After I typed that, I saw what I did. I wondered how long it would take to be noticed.

just a wrapped snare with contrastingly wrapped wood hoops. going back and forth between oyster and sparkle wraps, or a mix.
