Last Friday night, cover of Pink Floyd's Have a Cigar (more like covering the Probot version of Have a Cigar)

New chick singer, got her about a month and a half ago, she's incredibly green, but what the hell, ya know?

Oh, and I know I hosed the first tom fill...

Let me know what ya think...

Looks like your singer was a little tipsy. Good playing.

Actually, that's just her normally. She's quite a bit of a hippie-chick...

The "tipsy" one is the bass player. He'd had 4-5 6-point corona's before we started playing, and had a $45 beer tab by the end of the night. I figured he was getting hammered when I went to pick him up and he was trying to finsih one off in the driveway on the way to the car...lol

I think it sounds quite good. It needs to be slower to fit more of a Floyd pocket, and could use a little more effect on the vocal to give it that mystic effect. I rather liked it...just needed a more relaxed pocket IMO...
:thu:

I think we normally practice it a touch slower, but not much. It was the second song in our first set, so I was a bit anxious (which is why the first tom fill came rushed).

The original is quite a bit slower, so if you're using that as your reference it'll seem quite fast.

This is the version we covered:
