Members halcyo
I'm looking to get a kit on the cheap. I'm a pretty good player, even though drums have not been my usual main instrument. I'm looking to step back into the drum world, and since I've been out of the loop a while, I was wondering if there were some new 'performance for the price' breakthroughs in drums lately! What do you guys think when you think 'cheapest, best kit'. Genres will most likely be pop/r&b/funk... Thanks!

How many cymbals do you want? A cheap kit with good heads and good cymbals will sound OK. An expensive kit with stock heads and crap cymbals will sound worse. Hit Craigslist... Members sharkhamill
Agreed, Craigslist. Or Gretsch has some cool kits for undera thousand. Or Pacific.
