Members joe97yo
I've heard Bubinga is a LOT harder and denser than maple. They're supposed to be really fat when you lay into 'em. Just what I've heard:wave:
Members bbe
i play the tama b/b's which are birch with 3 inner plies of bubinga. I use remo coated ambassadors on top and clear diplomats on bottom, and i can tell you they sound warmer and a lot bigger than plain old birch shells. My 20" b/b kick can put out just as much or more low end than almost any other kick ive played. I would imagine the all bubinga drums would have a lot more low end than the b/b's do. Members k7mto
I've been playing Tama kits since the 80's. The last few years I've been playing a Starclassic Performer kit (100% birch). I recently bought a Tama SCP birch/bubinga kit and it most definitely is much fatter/deeper sounding than the birch and maple kits. I use coated G2s over G1s right now, but I want plan to try some coated Ambs and/or Emps as well. I imagine the 100% bubingas are even nicer
Members Tomske
My 20" b/b kick can put out just as much or more low end than almost any other kick ive played. When i first got my b/b my dad told me that the entire upstairs was vibrating when i played double kicks on it.

Members phatman10
im wondering about the new tama bubinga drums. how do they sound with single ply heads? how does bubinga compare to maple? birch? Bubinga is much deeper sounding than maple or birch. It's pretty cool. There's a full tama starclassic bubinga review here that goes into more detail about the sound.
