Still Raining Cats and Drums

The old saying "when it rains it pours" is so damn true. I was completely mired in this music-less suck world for almost exactly 3 years. Then I start getting some auditions. Then I join Keystoned. Now I'm making up for lost time and LOVING IT!!!!

My week this week:

Sunday - Keystoned hosted open mic and played for like 2 1/2 hours

Monday - off

Tuesday - Keystoned gig in Philly

Wednesday - practice

Thursday - Keystoned gig in West Chester, PA

Friday - Fill-in gig in Exton, PA

Saturday - off

Sunday - Keystoned at open mic

And we've got more gigs on the books through September and October as well as fill-in gigs. Not sure who I was nice to, but I'm so happy that SOMETHING finally made the worm turn.

That is all. Back to reading about {censored} you care about.

Right on, Doug! Keep posting this stuff. I love hearing about what others are doing.

I quit playing for many years as well and I jumped back in a couple of years ago. We started gigging within a month of my joining the band and haven't had more than a 2 week break since. And it's great!

Btw K7mto, there was a female sword swallower who went on a couple acts before us last night. It's amazing how even a...ummm...how do I say this...not-so-attractive woman can become very intriguing when showing off a talent like that.

And how many volunteered the use of their bush wackers:lol::lol:

Hey, if anybody's in the area, we're playing tonight at The Note in West Chester - Bam Margera's place.

As for whether real work keeps me busy enough...well, it occupies plenty of my time, that's for sure. But I wouldn't trade the gigs for anything. If going to work tired is the price to pay for happiness, I'm buying.

I hear ya! I can't count the number of times I've rolled into bed around 3am and been at my desk working (I work from home) by 7am. Nothing a few gallons of caffeine won't cure :thu: Thankfully, though, most gigs are on weekends.

So, we didn't play a show tonight. We ended up playing TWO shows tonight. Gotta love it. We played a set at The Note, a very cool club in West Chester PA with a great sound system. Then somehow we end up driving 40 minutes (shoulda been 20, but that's another story) to a bar to jump on the house band's gear and play another set because the "guest bartender" was a friend of our guitarist and bassist. Whacky night. I thought I'd be home hours ago.

So not complaining!
