Members race81
is there a difference between a pro-m and a m-series or are they one in the same?
Members RumStik
"M Series" is usually what someone says when they're selling M Birch but wouldn't mind if you mistook it for the maple Pro M. I've also seen it in cases in which all someone knows is that there's an "M" on the badge(s).
Members Mark Ahle
Pro M-Recently discontinued all-maple set M Series-Another name for the really old "Mars" kits? Also Maple, I believe. -MA

Members RumStik
...finish is a stained blue (turqouise) with clear so the wood grain shows through. That's a very common M Birch finish, (Transparent Sapphire), and the Pro M had no equivalent. If the badge looks like the attached image, it's M Birch. ...which isn't necessarily a bad thing, as long as you know what you're getting. I own a set of M Birch drums that I love. I've seen a lot of other Far Eastern kits that weren't even close.
Members race81
^^^yep thats the lugs that are on it. Badge is differant though. badge is a hexagon and all it says is m-series. Must be older model. Mapex website does not show the badge either. I found it interesting that mapex no longer uses these lugs on anything but theyre lower lines now. Members 05WideGuy
Badge says Pro M, it's a Maple kit. Badge has an M only, it is Birch as in M-Birch Both have been replaced by the Meridian series, Meridian Maple and Meridian Birch.
