Members PaoloJM
I pretty much hate the sound of my own voice (it sounds whiny, nasally and thin to me) but I love music and singing, once nobody's listening. It's really hard to be subjective on yourself so I'd appreciate your opinion. What should I be working on to get better? http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10813900/No%20Excuses.mp3
Members Tommy57
Hey! I know this cover I reviewed this awhile back on TMV. Well, you already got my review, I won't rehash.
Members IllinoisJack
listening and typing live: Hard to focus on voice with so many effects.... Not holding notes firmly....wavering sliding into notes - not attacking music at this point - waiting enunciation and diction not so bad are you singing your own backup?? not holding notes again - wavering and warbelling end. Members STRANDMAN1
First, everyone hates the sound of their own voice. That's because we've all spent a lifetime hearing ourselves differently inside of our own skulls that others hear us from the outside. Even after years of hearing my voice mirrored back to me on recordings I still think I sound goofy. You actually sing very well and I didn't hear you whine even once. Just try to remember that your listeners don't expect any given character to be present in voice. The trick isn't to change your voice it's fine. What's important is that the material you are singing fits your style. Just be yourself and choose material that suits you, which is what you already seem to be doing. Members guitar-fish
Your voice isn't bad. I agree with the others, you just need to improve your technique.

After you reach a level where you can express yourself, it becomes more of you being a hard critic rather than hating it. I love my voice, but the level of harsh critique of it never ceases. I think this is a good thing, never being fully satisfied pushes the singer to keep trying to reach a new level.
