  1. Epiphone Alleykat with OHSC - $375 SHIPPED I am the original owner, the guitar is four years old, very lightly played, excellent condition. NO DENTS/DINGS. Guitar kept in my home, smoke free and humidified
  2. I find it more than a little humorous that people will bash Gibson for being overpriced and overrated, and bash Epi because the "feel cheap". Some people are never happy. Coop - impressive, as always buddy.
  3. Here's another wannabe who plays those cheap Epi's... Full story here
  4. I play my American Strats most of the time, but I always wanted an LP style guitar, and decided to go for an Epi. One of the local stores had some Standards, but they were beat up a bit by the customers, and none were very inspiring. They all needed a good cleaning and setup, and I just didn't want to bother with that. So I kept looking around, and I found a real nice one locally. For $459, I couldn't be happier. The only thing I changed was the pups - I put in GFS Fat PAFs. I know it's not a Gibby, and that's OK, because I can relax and not worry about dinging it. When I pick it up and play it, it feels and sounds great. Doesn't feel cheap at all. Yeah, I know, it's covered with veneer, etc. All in all, a great value for the bux.
  5. I'm so ignorant in this area, I'm mostly a blues/electric fan. I don't know 90% of the people mentioned here, which is good - it gives me a new direction to move in. Originally posted by edman316 I will say that Eric Clapton probably stimulated the acoustic guitar market more than anyone in history when he did his unplugged gig on MTV. There are tons of acoustic guitars abandoned in closets and under beds after the new owners gave up trying to learn "Tears in Heaven" and "Layla". True. After I learned the basics of chords, EC's Unplugged CD was where I went next. Fortunately, my guitar never ended up abandoned. I can play most of the songs on that CD now. I recently got hooked on David Gilmour's Meltdown DVD, it's mostly an unplugged thing. He does some nice acoustic work on it.
