Members kelexys
Hi I just started singing and I like to have some good advice. Here I have a little example so maybe you could listen to it and give me some advice. http://www.4shared.com/file/72422239/d68d7cb1/texas_2s_voice.html I recorded it with a tiny microphone so the quality isn't perfect. thanks
Members Notes_Norton
I didn't listen to your sample, so I cannot comment on that. However, the first and most important bit of advice I'd give to any singer is to learn how to breathe properly. When breathing your chest should not go in and out. Your diaphragm should support the voice by moving up and down. This will make your lower abdomen go in and out, although those muscles will not be supporting your voice, your diaphragm will. Keep your throat relaxed. If you do not breathe properly while singing, you can damage your vocal chords. If the damage is severe, only an operation can fix it, and there is a chance with the operation that you will never sing again. It is actually the natural way to breathe. Look at a newborn baby, or a sleeping dog or cat, and you will not see the chest expanding and contracting to breathe, you will see the lower abdomen going in and out as the diaphragm goes up and down inside the animal. It is only when we get older and want to make a big chest to impress our friends and members of the opposite sex that we learn to breather wrong. Get a good vocal coach to teach you how to breathe. It will be the best investment you can make. Insights and incites by Notes

Members Jersey Jack
Not bad. I think your voice works for this style of music. The only trouble spot was that higher note near the end, where your voice seemed to lose its support. Working on breathing will help. But good, good!
