  1. Been poking around the web and the nearest thing I've seen is a 30s Stella - similar headstock and zero fret and the body shape wasn't a million miles off either. Here are a few piccies now I've mastered the technology It does need a bit of tlc - I might send it off to the guitar doctor
  2. Well I've got a correct ident on the floor. From the lack of replies I'm guessing it's not very common whatever it is! Here's a side view
  3. Here's another slightly closer view of the body. Any guitar gurus out there with any ideas?
  4. Hello to all! I acquired this guitar 10 years ago and have no idea what it is! It is obviously an archtop and has some age to it. There are traces of a label inside the body but there are no identifying marks remaining. It is finished in black which looks original and is bound in what seems to be some kind of white composite. It seems to have led an interesting life inasmuch as I think the bridge and tailpiece have been replaced as well as one of the machine head strips. The neck has a zero fret and a brass nut and as you can see joins the body at the 11th fret which seems a bit odd. It has a loud and bright sound, though there is a very slight twist in the neck. I'm not sure what the wood is - maybe spruce? - but it is tightly grained. I have more pictures but don't seem to be able to upload more than one! Any help in identifying this guitar would be greatly appreciated!
