Well, I suppose it is the same reason. He doesn't excite me very much.

I bought my first Bruce Cockburn album (vinyl) back in the late '70s I think.

Lots of other volunteers chose to work this show, and it meant lot to them to be there, so I didnt want to take a spot that didn't mean that much to me personally. So I unloaded his trailer at noon, got it all up the stage, greeted the talent and got out of the way.

He's good, he's just not my style, I guess.

I met Cockburn last week. I did the load-in before the show when his bus arrived He played 2 sold out shows here but I didn't go to either of them.

I don't know what it is, but I can be really obdurate (as many of you know).
I had been hearing people go on and on about Richard Thompson for years. I had listened to a bit of it, too, but it never really did anything for me.
Finally saw him in concert maybe 6 months or so ago.
I don't get it.
Don't misunderstand. I'm not saying he's not everything his fans say he is, but I left scratching my head wondering what all the fuss is about. That show just left me cold, and I really wanted to like him.
I hope nobody thinks I'm bashing the guy, because that's not it at all. Just wondering what I am missing that I can't appreciate somebody who is by all accounts one of the great talents of out time.

got home from work around midnight and played it for the first time.

I couldn't put it down, even though I had to get up early the next morning to go to work. And indeed I did get up @ 5:00am and started playing it again before I left for work.

Prettiest piece of mahogany I've ever seen. So much silk on the top that doesn't photograph so well. What does appear in the photo images is all the red streaking throughout the top.

Just beautiful.

The wood has a very strong and distinct and pleasant oder.
