  1. Hey guys! So my band and I are finally getting to the stage that we need to upgrade our amps to play live without sounding like a cow mud pie and we found some record deals. They are 4x12's but we don't know really which one to get yet, but that's not the question. The thing is that we are going to get these cabs and the biggest (and only amp for now) that I own is a Fender Mustang V1 20 watt 1x8 amp. Great practice amp, but I was wondering if that the amp could power the 4x12 without overheating or anything bad. Also, if I do use that as the amp head, I noticed that there is a yellow wire connect from the circuit to the speaker. It's not the ground or positive, so I have no idea what that does. I was thinking to put the amp in a new box for just the head, but I don't know if that cable will mess something up if I cut it. Perhaps I could connect it to the output jack? Defiantly need some help and a diagram is helpful if possible if I need to wire it differently. Thanks!
