  1. I have read many reports of guitarist trying to find the maximum number of switching options in 3 pickup guitars Problem is, we’re geared for maximum variety with the greatest simplicity My preference: HSH - humbuckers wired conventionally to a 3-way toggle - single coil wired to a second 3-way toggle in an in-phase/off/out-of-phase setup. - 3 volume puts -1 times pot This allows all combinations of all pickups, and adding the out of phase single coil to one or both humbuckers produces an broad, unique range of tones. No coil splitting, coil tapping, no push/pull, no batteries, and if the single coil matches the pickguared color, it can look like any bog standard 2-humbucker guitar.
  2. I admire the simplicity of your approach Personally, I prefer the humbucker wired conventionally to a 3-way toggle, and the single wired in-phase/off/out-of-phase to a second 3-way toggle. 3 volume pots, 1 tone pot. Amazing what tonal variety you can conjure with such a simple setup.
