Studio Projects VTB 1 is a good quality mic pre for the money. I used them for a long time, before switching to the high end pre's. You'll like the VTB 1, but don't expect it to perform like a high end pre, or you'll be disappointed.

I have a Mackie 32 ch. 8 bus and Alesis HD 24 as well. Very cool, I bet you can produce some awesome sounds with that set up.
