I currently have 3 microphones - a Shure SM58, a Shure SM57, and a MXL 2001 and 2 Pre-amps, an ART Tube MP and a Studio Projects VB-1. I am looking for a good, inexpensive LCD for recording vocals. I've noticed that the MXL 2001 (purchased several years ago) seems to distort in the upper frequencies and I think I have recently noticed that the SM58 does a better job(?!). Am I wasting my time looking for a good LCD mic for $100-200, or should I make the best of what I have? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks GC
