Good mic, but too dark imo for a "utility mic." Dunno what your budget is, but there are usually a load of AKG414's (I'd go with the B-ULS, not the TL-II) on ebay etc. Not a cheapo mic, but not too spendy either - evey mic cab should have one. the 414 is a standard on acoustic instruments and not too bad on voc's either. Other's of note: AT 4050 (or even a 4033) I used a pr of 4050's on a session for acoustic and they work great too.
