  1. I got the Kramer Pacer price matched from M123 for $243. I'm not buying it but if somebody wants the link, i'll PM it to you. I also have one for a Gibson LP Studio Faded for $669 if somebody is interested. EDIT: I've given both of these out. Sorry!

  4. Don't tell anyone, but Zzounds is the only one who will do a PM on the Kramer, and they're doing it for $246 and change. Funny thing is, AMS declined, saying it was below their cost I got a pricematch too and was gonna post that. I bought 2 guitars this week. Can't afford and don't need another!
  5. ^ The free case is good until 8/31 from what it says on the MF site. Can't help you with the coupon though. EDIT Google search yields this: Get treated like a VIP when you shop at Musicians Friend this week. That's because the instrument retailer is having a savings event with discounts up to $100 off qualifying purchases. All you need to do is apply coupon code VIP100AUG during checkout to take $10 off orders over $150 all the way up to $100 off orders over $600. Coupon expires 08/12/2011.
  6. The details of 'any price': "110% Low Price Guarantee We guarantee the lowest price - not only when you buy, but for 45 days after your purchase as well. If you find the identical item, in stock and advertised for less at any authorized U.S. dealer (auction web sites excluded), we will refund you 100% of the difference, as well as an additonal 10% of that difference. This guarantee does not apply to discontinued, special order, blemished, damaged, closeout, open box, Factory Restock item or auction items." It can be pretty hit and miss. I've had one person say 'no', then tried again and got the 110% price match on the same item. Lately they've been better (aside from adding shipping to the online quotes). I agree.. back when they wre doing the 123% thing, people would often not honor it and I'd send in another request and that person would. It doesn't hurt to try. Sometimes your persistency will pay off.
  7. I haven't had any trouble (lately) getting them to do the 110% on anything, but you're right about the shipping. I sent a request for the LP Special and Faded Studio Pro earlier this week and had to have them remove the shipping on both. As far as financing goes, if I'm going to finance something, it will be at 6 or 12 months with no interest or fees. I stopped shopping at AMS and zzounds for anything I want to finance because they started charging fees for their payment plans. Although in your case, I'm sure the $6 is better than paying sales tax... I thought it was cool becuase I don't need another credit card or line of credit. It is a one shot deal and $6 is less than 1% of my purchase. I got the same LP Studio from zZounds for $650 shipped. Woot!
  8. They pick and choose what they want to honor it on. I'm sure I'll buy stuff from them in the future if the price is right but they aren't my first choice. They keep adding shipping to their quotes in some cases made their price match higher than the original. That and the addition of sales tax is a big turn off. I had my first big purchase for zZounds this week and it went great. They beat M123's price match and they didn't try to stick me w/ shipping or sales tax. They also offer a 4 payment plan with zero interest ($6 fee).
  9. Justifications are over-rated. Rationalizations however are better than sex. Think about it, have you ever gone a week without a rationalization? Add one dollar to your order and get interest free financing for 12 months. That's one of the rationalizations I used, so I added a capo. I wanted one more anyway. One for the office one for the front room. It's not like I want to have to get up. You have a great sense of humor. BTW.. I did see Zzounds offers some sort of deferred payment for a $6 fee. I'll have to re-read the fine print but if that is the only charge, I'll be the proud owner of a Gibson Les Paul Studio very soon. It will my first Gibson Les Paul (not first Gibson though).
  10. thought you guys might find this interesting.. the article talks about how we should be expecting some good deals from retailers with the current situation http://finance.yahoo.com/banking-budgeting/article/113286/spenders-down-market-has-upside-smartmoney?mod=bb-budgeting Yeah it does seem like these really good deals have all popped up in the last week. It makes sense. Makes me want to wait for a better deal now lol!
  11. Zzounds beat my $670 pricematch from M123 for $650 but you have to consider that I live in CA where sales tax is 9.5% that I won't be paying from Zzounds either. So it is really like a $80 price difference. This is on a Studio LP, not the RD.
  12. Just want to chime in with a suggestion.. I don't see the RD on Zzounds site but they do have the Studio Les Paul and they actually beat my M123 quote. I tried to pricematch 3 things yesterday @ M123 and was successful. They actually beat the price but on 2 of the items but they charged shipping which was more than the difference in savings making it actually more expensive then buying it from MF. This morning they magically matched the RD price (not beat) but were able to offer free shipping. Zzounds beat the price and offered free shipping right off the bat and there is no tax for me in CA (NJ only).
  13. Only Lefty's left on the Strats It unfortunately made the front page of slickdeals. Hopefully more people here got in on that. I had a Sunburst in the cart, got sidetracked while I was riding the fence deciding if I was going to pull the trigger and it disappeared. I did get a Lake Placid blue Telecaster. I'm happy because that was going to round out my collection. Time to start weeding some of the less desirables out but so hard to decide which ones to part with.
  14. Must resist (thanks to Linux Crew @ Slickdeals).... Fender Stratocaster or Telecaster Left or Right - $379 Coupon Code: BobGetsAMexi http://www.worldmusicsupply.com/dept.aspx?dept_id=28-007&page=2
  15. Heck, the new ebony ones are priced at $299 with a hardshell case. That's a steal. I agree but maybe somebody is trying to save every penny? worth throwing it out there for someone..
  16. There is a restock on the Epiphone Les Paul 1956 for $250 (doesn't include case).. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/epiphone-limited-edition-1956-les-paul-electric-guitar?CJAID=10381297&CJPID=4003003
  17. Not much for guitarists but KILLER deals for drummers! Just picked up some Evans head for my kids' drum kit for 99 cents each!!! Thanks for that.. picked up my friend 3 sets of heads and a box of 10 pairs of sticks for $15 shipped to store.
  18. Minus The Bear, Cave In... those are some of the bands I really like.
  19. Feeler: I have a 1996 Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier with a road case and a 4x12 Mesa Boogie Cabinet. I am interested in trading but would consider cash offers too. I'm really interested in dealing with someone in So Cal but I'd consider mailing for the right deal but I'm sure that will probably be too costly. I'm really looking at getting a smaller Mesa combo or another tube combo and a Les Paul of some kind. I've been looking at Agiles, Xaviere, Epiphones and Gibsons and I haven't got my heart set on anything specific except something that looks like a Slash guitar. So either gold top or tobacco burst I'd be the most interested in. Obviously if were talking and Agile or a lower valued guitar would have to be compensated with either cash or a nice tube combo amp. This is what it looks like: Anyone have any input on what I would sell this for if I was to put it on Craigslist? Is $1500 too high for everything?
  20. A+ for DRIVELIKEJOEWHO Came through with payment on my Lola as he promised. Good communications. - w Thanks! Woody_in_MN is a good seller.
