Am I the only one to ever compile a list of serial numbers of my equipment? Anything worth taking was assigned a serial number at the factory. Perhaps they included them so that in 20 years someone could date the instrument? No. These are identification numbers. If you were to include them in your police report, you would get the instruments back if they were ever questioned. Like at a pawn shop. If you don't know your serial numbers, you don't know your equipment.
