  1. I really love the way Les Pauls look too, but I find myself going for Strats/Teles more because the cleans just sound so beautiful with single coil pickups. I still wouldn't mind a kick ass Les Paul Custom in wine red though
    :p
    .

wouldn't mind the new Sammy Hagar LP if they'd remove that ugly peace sign in the headstock. It's a beaut except for that.

  2. that's a hard call. I have experience with both too. For really pristine cleans, the Fender Twin for me but if you want that jangly overdriven type of clean that the Vox delivers that works too. Both definitely have their strengths. It's a personal decision you'll have to make and it really depends on the type of music or artists you're trying trying to emulate. If you're going to be using a lot of overdrive I'd go with the VOX but if you're going to be playing clean a lot I'd go with a Fender. That's just my opinion and I'm sure someone will come in here and say the complete opposite later. It really just depends on your experience and ears. Both are great amps.

Before I forget, you need to take the type of guitars and pickups that you use into consideration as well.

  3. could be the knives / blades and posts are worn too. That's what I hate about staying in tune and trem units. All parts of the machine have to function correctly to stay in tune. I bought an Original Floyd Rose from the factory and that seems to have solved my tuning issues for the time-being.

  4. one guy summed it up pretty well awhile back...

MIM Fenders - made by Mexicans in Mexico

MIA Fenders - made by Mexicans in the U.S.

All I can say is several years ago I pulled out both MIA and MIM Fender Strats and played at least 10 maybe more and chose an MIM. I didn't look at the back of the necks where the Made in USA / Mexico stamp before I played them (money was not an object). I just went by tone, feel, craftsmanship, etc... and ended up with an MIM Custom Shop 60's Classic and it's been a great guitar...

  5. Now tell me that those "outlaws" would have been able to purchase a weapon on the black market.

easy. No need for a 'black" market, just a flea market. The FBI has undercover agents that go around to many of the larger ones around the country and they catch lots of guys selling guns without proper paperwork. Felons can get them easy. They just pay the money, pocket the pistol, and walk off. No paperwork at all; just cash and pistols being exchanged. That's not TV that's real life. I think you forget that criminals don't play by the same rules as regular society.

  6. instability and uncertainty is the new problem we face. We can no longer take for granted the blessings we've had for years that we didn't even realize we had such as a lifestyle of riches that was almost unparraleled in most countries in the world (think 5 TVs, 3 computers, 2 cars on average in most homes), job opportunities everywhere, border security, great military, some of the best educational facilities in the world, shopping centers, etc... We're going to have to tighten our belts and act responsibly as a nation by paying our bills, building our solvency up again because if we don't fix our economy, I fear a great domino effect will ensue that will leave us in a predicament similar to that of Russia in during the 90's.

Somehow I feel our current moral state has quite a bit to do with our problems as it seems that money has become the god of people in the United States and knowledge / intellectualism the new religion. This cannot be good in the long run. We need to restore moral order to bring structure back to this country.
