PHOENIX, AZ (July 24, 2017) -  Inspired by the classic Telefunken preamps of the past, Peter Swann, founder of Useful Arts Audio, introduced the SFP- 60 Microphone Preamplifier - a two-channel Class-A mic tube preamp with a variable control for second-order harmonic distortion.   Swann designed the different gain stages to utilize the tubes for what they are best for - accentuating harmonics.  The one of a kind 'Color' control provides an incredible amount of artistic distortion to make those mixes stand out.

Another key design factor of the SFP-60 is the massive inductor on the output tube - instead of an inexpensive resistor.  This inductor provides maximum headroom (over 60 dB of useable gain!), as well as the lowest possible noise.  The end result, vocals and instruments are up-front in the mix.  Although not a clone, this preamp design is reminiscent of the classic preamps used during the 60's.

The SFP-60 also features an instrument input, a pad, a high-pass-filter, phantom power and phase reversal.  MAP pricing is $3499.

Engineers and producers are already praising the SFP-60 including many at the recent Summer NAMM in Nashville.  Also, Grammy Award winning engineer/mixer Ben Kane
(D'angelo, Emily King, Snoop Dogg, Norah Jones, The Roots) has been making good use of the SFP-60.  "The SFP-60 is a beautiful sounding set of preamps that I would recommend to anyone who wants gear that will sound amazing while having the ability to fuel musical ideas and creativity", says Kane.
