Squarp set to revolutionise hardware sequencing workflow with polyrhythmic Pyramid
About Squarp Instruments (www.squarp.net)
Founded in 2013, Squarp Instruments currently comprises three R&D engineers, Benoît Desaissement, Tom Hurlin, and Jean Prieur. By being based out of a creatively-inspiring workshop in Paris, today they can collectively bring into play their expertise in computer science, electronics, and industrial design, as well as musical theory and technique, to dream up the musical hardware of tomorrow. Their goal is to facilitate the creative process, pushing back boundaries to research, develop, and bespoke build avant-garde machines, modernising high-level production and live performance, as well as appealing to both amateur and professional music-makers alike. Amazingly, Pyramid Polyrhythmic Sequencer is the first fruit of their creative collaboration, an advanced hardware standalone sequencer running proprietary PyraOs realtime processing firmware and boasting (multiple) MIDI, USB, CV/Gate, and DIN Sync connectivity, together with a host of fanciful features belying its compact and bijou form factor — not least the fact that it is fully polyrhythmic, hence its appropriate appellation.
