    CONVENTION CENTER AUTHORITY ANNOUNCES 50K DONATION FOR STORM RELIEF

     
     
     
    NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Convention Center Authority announced a donation of $50,000 this morning to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee fund on behalf of the Music City Center staff.  

     

    “The devastation from the tornado impacted many people and businesses in our community, including some from our team,” said Charles Starks, President/CEO of Music City Center. “On behalf of our team, we are making a donation as we stand together with our community.”

     

    The CCA also approved the 2021 fiscal year budget to fund the Music City Center’s operations and capital improvement projects.

     

    Additionally, MCC achieved 31.97% percent DBE participation in the second quarter of fiscal year 2020, spending $623,465 with minority, women-owned, small, and service-disabled veteran businesses. MCC’s contractors spent a combined $442,187 with DBE firms. MCC hosted 16 events with 47,535 attendees, generating 16,368 total room nights with a direct economic impact of $21,856,628 in January. Fiscal year-to-date 155 events have been hosted with an attendance of 269,575 and a direct economic impact of $233,364,819.

    About the Music City Center
    The Music City Center, Nashville’s convention center, features a 353,143 square foot exhibit hall, the 57,500 square foot Karl F. Dean Grand Ballroom, and an 18,000 square foot Davidson Ballroom. The building includes an art collection featuring local and regional artists, a covered three-level parking garage with 1,800 spaces, and is LEED Gold certified.
