  • Take Control Of Your Click And Backing Tracks

    By HC News |

Los Angeles, CA, September 8, 2015 – Created by veteran music industry professionals Tony Fagenson and Jerry Fitzgerald, Sidestage (www.sidestageapp.com) is a highly intuitive, versatile and expandable iOS backing tracks app ideal for live performances. Compatible with almost any current iOS device (iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch), musicians now have a formidable live music tool that is simple enough for beginners but flexible enough to handle the demanding needs of professionals.

The idea for Sidestage was born to resolve real world situations faced by actual musicians. Previously, performers found themselves with less than adequate options for working with backing tracks in a live music setting. They would have either had to build a playback rig with several different potentially expensive and confusing components or cope with extremely limited mobile options. Sidestage provides the optimal results at an affordable price.

Sidestage offers many key features designed to make life easier during live performances. The app also offers easy and fast import of most audio formats via cloud services, such as Dropbox and iCloud, or iTunes File Sharing.

    Exclusive Features Include:

    - Automatic click track, which avoids the need for pre-preparing click tracks or carrying laptops and full DAW software to live gigs.

    - 2 and 4-channel output modes and compatibility with 3rd party interfaces like the Apogee Duet, Native Instruments Traktor Audio 2 and more. Through this feature, the audience can hear full stereo tracks; other apps can’t achieve this due to limitations of the iOS headphone jack. With no interface Sidestage utilizes the headphone jack to split it’s audio signal as well.

    - The ability to edit crucial song settings, such as tempo, pitch, voice countoffs and more from within the app.

    - SCC, also known as Sidestage Crosstalk Control, which reduces unwanted crosstalk or bleed between channels.

    - Click Delay and Click Mute, allowing users great control over how the click interacts with the underlying audio.

    - A clean and attractive user-friendly interface that is easy to see in live show environments.

The versatility and functionality of Sidestage also serves to make it an exceptional practice tool, especially for drummers, and a world-class backup for even the most advanced live playback setups.

Sidestage co-creator Tony Fagenson has been using Sidestage every night on tour with his band Eve 6 throughout summer 2015. Fagenson noted, “I wanted to put our app through the rigors of the road as the ultimate test for skips or crashes, and Sidestage has performed flawlessly.”

Users can try the mostly full-featured app for free on the App Store (https://appsto.re/us/v8WO6.i), with a limit of two user-imported tracks. Unlocking is currently $9.99 and allows unlimited track imports and access to all of Sidestage’s functionality. New features will be rolled out in the near future as IAP (In-App Purchase) add-ons including Click Packs, MIDI connectivity, and more.
