Dark Matter Now Available

Meridian, MS — Peavey Electronics® continues its legacy of innovation in the pro audio market with the release of its new Dark Matter™ speaker enclosures.  Thanks to its new advanced DSP-equipped power section, the Dark Matter series is designed to outperform any existing enclosure in its category. These high-S.P.L. (Sound Pressure Level) enclosures feature modern styling and come in four available models: the DM™ 112, DM™ 115, DM™ 118 Subwoofer and DM™ 115 Subwoofer. The Dark Matter speaker enclosures are available now through authorized Peavey retailers. 

 

The ultra-reliable Dark Matter series enclosures are built tough with steel grilles and rugged injection molded cabinets. Their convenient design allows for use as floor monitors or pole-mounted speakers.  Perfect for DJ’s, bands and other musical applications, the Dark Matter enclosures produce best-in-class crystal-clear, professional audio. The Dark Matter LCD display and associated selector knob allow users to choose various parameters of operation for the DSP-based EQ. This includes bass and treble control access, as well as multiple EQ presets for various applications or speaker positions/locations. These presets provide users with a highly flexible method of configuring and optimizing the powered speaker system for a specific use with minimal time and effort.  

 

 Fan cooled for maximum reliability, the DM 112 and DM 115 feature 110 by 80 degree coverage by Peavey's exclusive Quadratic Throat Waveguide™ technology, helping deliver pristine, precise sound. Also featured is a two-way bi-amplified powered speaker system, 12” heavy-duty woofer, an XLR/1/4” TRS input and XLR output, DX™ 14-compression driver with 1.4-inch titanium diaphragm. A Mic/Line switch provides for two different gain settings. The cabinet has a rugged plastic injection-molded trapezoidal enclosure, rear corner angled sides for floor monitor use, full-coverage perforated steel grilles with powder coat finish, and a pole mount molded-in for 1 3/8” diameter poles. The dimensions of the DM 112 are 25.13” tall, 14.63” wide, and 14.38” deep, weighing 37 pounds, while the DM 115 is 27.94” tall, 16.75” wide, and 15.06” wide, weighing 42 pounds.

 

The DM 118 and DM 115 Subwoofers provide powerful low end with another Peavey exclusive, KOSMOS®, for powerful and dynamic bass impact, and forced air-cooled power amps with a vented bass powered subwoofer enclosure for optimum reliability. The speakers are equipped with an XLR/1/4” combo jack input, two high-pass XLR outputs and one full range thru XLR output. Also included is an internal line level low-pass/high-pass crossover network and a phase switch for phase reversal of the 15” heavy duty subwoofer. The speakers feature a full-coverage heavy-duty perforated steel grille, steel handles, ground lift for lifting cable shield from ground, and a threaded pole mount with speaker pole included. The dimensions of the DM 115 Subwoofer are 24.25” tall, 16.75” wide, and 23” deep, weighing 71 pounds while the DM 118 Subwoofer measures 25.75” tall, 19.75” wide, and 23” deep.
