Members nuke_diver
I've gotten myself all mixed up...I think regarding how many notes go into a beat count For example if I'm playing 100 bpm at 8ths is that 800 notes in a minute???? The reason I'm confused it that 8th at 100bpm seems not too fast from the lessons I've had but 800 notes in a minute sounds like a ton. Especially when I hear that the really fast players can do 32 notes in a second or 1920 note in a minute...a little more than twice as many was what I think isnt too fast (100 at 8ths) I got the feeling I've got something backasswards someplace
Members belief bone
unless its a different time signature, a quarter note is one beat therefore it would be 200 8th notes 400 16ths 800 32nds
Members EllenGtrGrl
+1 you posted just before I was going to post it. A quarter note is 1 beat, and and 2 eighth notes = 1 quarter note. Therefore at 100bpm (100 quarter notes per minute), you have 200 eighth notes played.
Members nuke_diver
So I was all screwed upSo then to play about 1000 notes in a minute I'd need to be playing something like 250 bpms 16ths...or am I still messing it up...damn I'm too old to do math any more

A 16th note is 1/4th of a quarter note, so yeah, you'd have to play all 16th notes at 250 bpm, to play 1000 notes in a minute. Can you "blur of notes?" Sure you can! I knew you could!
