Members Karma1
I was planning on replacing the stock Celestion G12L in my Marshall 8040 combo with a Celestion Vintage 30. I have an opportunity to buy a used Avatar Hellatone 30, but am not familiar with them. When I Googled them, I found that they are basically a Celestion G12H30 which they "age and exercise the suspension" to convert it to a Hellatone - whatever that means. Just looking at the picture of it, the magnet looks a lot larger than my G12L. The few user reviews here on Harmony Central are quite positive, but just wondering if any one here has any experience with them?
Members Chairborne
I have one in an extension 1x12 cab I run with my Peavey C30 and it sounds great. No other "fuzzy comments" about warmth and where it breaks up and comparison with other speakers and all that. All I can say is I like it.
Members Mandooks
I like mine to. I also use it in an extension cab. I was actually thinking about putting it in a deluxe reverb but might get rid of it cause I have too much stuff. Let me know if you're interested.
