Members Silverburst LP
I recently got a sss MIM strat, and am looking to upgrade the pups (and pots to 500K). I'm really am liking these DiMarzio Area and Vintage noisless pups. I decided on an Area '61 Bridge, '58 in the middle, but I'm at a tossup for the neck. Another '61 would sound good, I think, but I'm leaning toward the Blues 2. It's supposed to be warm and fat with great dynamic pick response. I'm also liking the '67's. I don't want Lace (good, but they seem to lose a bit of the "strat mojo" in their tone), and am sticking with DiMarzio for a good old school Strat sound, so if any of you guys have suggestions or experience with this line of DiMarzio strat pups. . I play a lot of blues type stuff, but also rock, experimental, psychedelia, classic rock. I'd really appreciate some input, experiences, pros/cons, or advice for a the right choice of Neck PUP to match these other two. How does the Blues 2 compare with a 61 or 67? Members budkingston
I have a bunch of Area pickups, virtual vintage and what not, imarzio make good stuff. I like the vintage noiseless as well. If I was going with an area 61 in the bridge, I would put a 58 in the middle and neck. Anything "newer" and you might have balance issues.
