Members thomasraelburke Posted October 14, 2009 Members Share Posted October 14, 2009 hi all, i am wondering if anyone here can help me? i have been trying to get around a certain guitar sound for some of my bands songs. the tone i am after is like justin small from do make say think namely "executioner blues" 'from you, your a history in rust',or basically the overdriven distorted guitar sound that he gets. my rig is currently fender 52ri tele jcm900 50w hi gain reverb head 1960a cab. i use a modded ds1 but i basically modded it to try and drive the amps valves so it doesnt actually produce much if any distortion, it just makes things a bit louder really. i use the neck pickup with the tone rolled almost all the way back and the clean channel 'a' on jcm, with gain or preamp on full. that amp just doesnt crunch up the way i want it to. if anyone is familiar with the sound i am after please discuss, your two cents will be appreciated. i was thinking of maybe a big muff pedal....
