Members Bubbluz
Classic 60's,took the neck off, found a paper sticker on the heel, peeled it off. The other sticker is under the finish, can't decide whether to sand the finish down and remove it or just put it back on as is. I'm wondering if I'd notice a difference if I sand the heel and neck pocket for wood -> wood contact. Opinions ? Any compelling reasons for or against sanding it down ? Members MichaelSaulnier
Is it really a "shim"? If you do decide to sand it off... put it back on first... record something. Then sand away... reinstall... and record again.Let us A/B it without knowing the before or after...WE can tell if it sounds better or not!M

The paper sticker is already gone,so the differences(if any) would likely be even less apparent. Gonna change out the pickguard and maybe shield it too. Members Vintage55
You took half the tone away when you peeled off the first sticker. Don't take it all away...
