Members SuperAmerMetal
Hello all, Is there any problem with using Minwax satin finish polyurethane to finish a maple guitar neck? I am planning on using thin coats and sanding in between coats with at least 220 grit sandpaper. Will the finish end up feeling tacky or un-natural?? Thank you

Thank you sand with 400 or 600 grit. 220 will take a thin coat right back off. ive used minwax wipe on poly for a number of guitars now, i like it. the spray on will be similar, just alot thicker. Members DaleH
I use the ninwax wipe on poly. Very easy to use. You can get it in satin or gloss.I just put a little in a jar lid or small dish and use a piece of old t-shirt around my finger. Just wipe it on and hang the neck to dry.Go's on very thin and smooth. oooo steel wool between coats. Thing I like is you can do fretboards withot masking the frets.Do light thin coats
