Members philbo
I just came back from the 2010 Chicago Blues Fest. I only attended Sunday. Favorites: - A guitar shootout between Carl Weathersby & Larry McCray at the Gibson Stage. Both were smokin' hot. - Homemade Jamz - a family band, with an outstanding drummer who happens to be an 11 year old girl. Her brothers were playing guitars that looked like car mufflers, and her dad (or maybe grampa) was playing harmonica - Guitar Shorty (brother-in-law of Jimi Hendrix, as it turns out) - a Chicago Blues Reunion featuring Barry Goldberg, Corky Siegel, Nick Gravenites, Harvey Mandel, Charlie Musselwhite, and Sam Lay We headed over to Buddy Guys Legends bar, and met several very nice people - - Buddy, his daughter, Lurrie Bell, Guitar Shorty and several other bluesmen, while listening to Carlos Johnson, then Little Ed & the Blues Imperials. Buddy got up and sang a tune or two, backed by Carlos' band, which I considered a real treat. All in all, a pretty damn good time.
