Members ledvedder
Well, I've determined that the bridge pickup in my guitar is shot. It isn't reading anything on the multimeter. Here is the guitar, http://img3.musiciansfriend.com/dbase/pdf/spec/511844.pdf. I'm looking for some pickup recommendations. I play classic to modern rock covers. The heaviest that I would ever need to go is in the realm of Tool or older Metallica (RTL or MOP). I like to get more along the lines of older Van Halen type of tone. I really don't want to spend a lot, since the guitar is cheap to begin with.

Members ledvedder
How about a Duncan JB? I've heard they tend to be very bright and ice pickup sounding.

Members vintage clubber
GFS VEH perhaps? http://store.guitarfetish.com/veviexhotzep.html otherwise, for about the same cost as a Duncan or Dimarzio, it is well worth the cost/wait to get a custom wound from BG Pickups. Forum member Norcal_GIT_r discounts to forum members and winds some incredible pickups. I have three guitars equipped with his pickups. http://www.bg-pups.com
