Members barrytaylor
Ambrosia really rocked the house with their performance at CalProg. By ditching the soft pop and adding extended solos to their Prog Rock songs it made their sound much much more Powerful. See Fan Reviews http://www.calprog.com Yeah amazing that everything came together for this show. Dave Lewis had a stroke 3 1/2 week before and he wasn't supposed to play, but he ended up playing anyway and was awesome. Chris has had tendinitis or something in his right hand, so he was hurting too, but just powered through the show. Doug Jackson on guitar. You know I've never really care too much for his playing, but I haven't seen him for over 2 years and he blew me away. I couldn't believe it was the same person. Shem was great and Burleigh and Joe were awesome. The sound was really good with Steve Lehman mixing. The guy Jim who puts on the show read the Jabberwocky. All in all a show for the ages. Well you are in luck because a guy took some amazing photos with a $7000 Nikon camera and $2200 Lens. http://www.pbase.com/jaydubz/image/129425720/original Papa Jim has an internet radio show and here's part of the performance. It sounds pretty good but doesn't come close to what it sounded like being there. http://www.papajarchives.com/Sounds/...10_128kbps.mp3 RPWL the band from Germany did a fun take on what is Prog that's include in the radio broadcast. Here's a song I really like that they did called Roses
Members bp
I glad Papa Jim keeps the festival going. It's tough these days to pull one off and not lose your shirt. I wish my old band had taken the opportunity to play the fest more seriously a couple of years ago. However we did manage to do NEARfest and RoSfest. I'll listen to the audio shorty. Thanks for the links!
