Members (o)(o)
Pros: These things seem fairly decent, especially for the money. I could slap in Duncans and maybe an Earvana compensated nut and this thing would still be under $500. I love goldtops and there's other nice finishes in the lineup. Cons: Made in China, which makes me suspicious of quality (plus I've got no love for the government there.) Ibanez says the wood is mahogany, but it's probably the shoddy end of the tonewood spectrum. Probably no resale value if (when) I decide to sell. Like this better than comparable models - I won't buy an ESP (hate the necks), and this guitar seems better than the low end Epiphones. (Never tried the PRS Singlecut though) So, would you buy one of these for a "beater"?
Members notjonahbutnoah
Well.... maybe. Having a beater is cool, but you really only need one. I'd try one of the PRS ones before you take the plunge. Also, if you do decide to go with it, make sure you get one from a reputable dealer with a decent return policy. Members WGH
Here are a couple of older threads...http://acapella.harmony-central.com/showthread.php?2718703-NGD-Ibanez-Artist-100&p=41714740&highlight=#post41714740http://acapella.harmony-central.com/showthread.php?2715780-Ibanez-ART100-opinions&highlight= I just picked one up a few weeks ago and still like it. I didn't have an LP-type and thought this would work out. It stays in tune, sounds good to me, and has a nice solid feel.
