Members 45below
Hey guys,I'm in the process of wiring up a new pickguard for my strat. It consists of a single humbucker in the bridge position, 1 volume, 1 tone, and a 3-way switch. On the 3 way switch, I'm going to do the "dual sound with coil switching" as shown on the dimarzio manual here: http://www.dimarzio.com//media/diagrams/4Conductor.pdf it's near the bottom of the left hand column. As for the rest, I'll just use a basic wiring diagram like this: http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=1hum_1vol_1tone (although on the Super Distortion I'm putting in, the Red is hot, and the black is ground) My question is: how or where do I fit the 3-way switch into the wiring diagram I have linked? Thanks! I really appreciate it
Members Mabuse
Connect the pickup to series/parallel (or "dual sound") switch as shown in the dimarzio manual. The hot output from the switch goes to the volume pot's lug like the black wire in the Duncan diagram. The ground from the switch goes to the back of the volume pot.
