Members Nijyo
And what's a good FTP program for Mac? Cyberduck. I used to use Fetch (a lonnngggg time ago) but I don't think Fetch supports SFTP/SCP, which I need for a lot of systems these days.
Members excase
Actually Macs have a built in FTP transfer function, it is in the terminal window. It is a simple command line of FTP 10.10.100.10 (your destination IP here) then enter your function you need and file name/local location. Seriously, it is just Unix at the core now. Unix is the original operating system that Microsoft DOS (used to be called CPM I think before MS) was copied from and not very well. It does work, but seriously, unless you know what you are doing at that level of UNIX be very careful (in the voice of Elmer Fud). If you ask UNIX to delete all of your directories it will do so without asking you if you really want to do such a stupid thing. But in a bind I have used FTP and also the command PING (your IP address) to make sure I can see another machine first before wasting my time trying to connect to something that won't work anyway. Just don't use the DEL function (delete) unless you really have to. for more info google unix commands. A regular FTP clint, like fetch, is best for regular use.
