Members jbear555
Hey All,I just picked up an MIJ 62 Deluxe Tele body from a fairly well-known Fender parts seller on the auction site. It was listed as having Texas Special PUPs.I pulled the guard and plate and the wires are thin enamel, flat pole-pieces (bridge), and the pots are small and marked "Japan." Also two small, brownish, pillow-shaped caps (one bridges the two pots), and a white plastic switch housing.So...are these PUP's Texas Specials? Honestly, I don't care that much because I have some Baja PUP's I am going to put in (and these sound nice), but I would like to let these folks know about it because they sell a lot of stuff. Thanks all. Members Angry Tele
theres 2 types of texas specials :custom shop which have raised poles, white thread, cloth hook up wire, and measure around 9K, and the MIM texas specials which have flat poles, black thread and measure 15K and have plastic hook up wire. Members jbear555
Good to know...these must be MIM...if they're TS's. They sound pretty nice and the guitar is as nice as any Tele I've played period. I'll likely drop the Baja PUP's in there or the neck Twisted Tele and a Duncan Broadcaster (my favorite bridge T-PUP).
