The question here isn't Pinstripes vs G's but rather Pinstripes vs. G2's or Ambassadors vs. G's. Pinstripes are a bit thicker and more muffled than their Evans counter parts Genera 2's. Members Nagi Posted September 20, 2002 Members Share Posted September 20, 2002 Congrats, you purchased the set.Coated heads will be a bit warmer/muffled sounding due to the coating applied. Remo's coating doesn't last very long but the head underneath will be fine also another good head is the Aquarian Performace II's (that would be my choice). If your chosing between the two that you listed I'd go for the Remo pintstripe they will be easy for you to tune and to start off withand will last a longtime.
