Members woody431
Try to find a nice used upper end set of Sabian, Zildjians or Paistes. As for recommendations, I suggest 14" AAX Fast Hats.

Members Boone 5
Get some 13's I like 13's better than 14's for some reason don't really know why? When I play 14's and play open it's just to much for me.
Members Dash OH drummer
what do you think of the: 14' Zildjian A Custom Mastersound hi-hats and the14' Z custom Dyno Beat hi-hats?
Members drumt
I agree 100% on the New Beats. But don't do it light on top heavy on the bottom. Do the reverse. I have a new respect for my 24 y.o. cyms. drumt

Those Mastersounds are great but the Dyno Beats are definately a no-no. You can't play anything but metal with those(well you can but it won't sound too good both, top and bottom cymbals being extra-heavy). By a pair of used New Beats or K's(both in 14").
