Members jokerjkny
hey all, i'm shopping for a snare now, and want something good for funk, fusion, r&b soul, and hiphop. i thought i wanted a 13x6 cause the smaller diameter would give me a nice crack, but the deeper shell would give me a nice resonant depth of tone. and yet, i see many in this sizing being ebay'ed. is this just a bad sizing to get? Members JOBand
I have an assortment of snares and find myself using a 13 inch about 95% of the time. It`s perfect for just about anything. i find a 14 inch snare now seems big and sluggish. I don`t know why so many of these snares end up on EBAY. Maybe it`s because we were conditioned for so many years that a snare drum was supposed to be 14 inches in diameter.

Members Dash OH drummer
Never heard of anything wrong with 6x13...infact the drummer for NOFX uses the same (don't know if you like their music of not ) Actually I was in the market for a 7x14 but am considering the 6x13 just because it sounds so great.
