The one I'm looking into is a 5.5x14 Black Chrome shell with die-cast hoops. I currently play a maple shelled Tama Artwood snare with flanged hoops and I am looking for a louder brighter cutting sound. I'm not familiar with Gretsch at all. I am thinking that a Steel snare with the die-cast hoops is what I want. Gretsch seems to be the only company that makes such a drum. THANKS!
