Members sydfan
I have an old 5.5" x 14" 10 lug Slingerland snare drum that I want to sell. I've seen similar drums on e-bay go for $100.00. It has the old oval logo and says "Slingerland Quality Drums Niles, Illinois U.S.A." and has serial number 87072. Your help would be appreciated! Members rca
Usually the date (month and year) is found on the inside of the shell. The badge is probably either silver and black or gold and black. Gold as in brass. Silver as in alunimum. Silver badges started about 1969 I think. Gold is 60's. In the early 60's, Slingerland moved to Niles. Before that, the badges said Chicago. If you have a gold badge, I would guess that the snare is around '65. If a silver badge, I would guess that it is about '72.
