Members jrm27
Hey guys (and ladies): So, we have a new disc coming out in about 6 weeks. It may be a bit late for this question, but better late than never! How would we go about gettign our foot in the door with distribution? It's a Christian rock cd, so its a niche market, but does anyone have tips or ideas? -jon

Members BlueStrat
Distibution doesn't cost anything except a percentage of your sales. What you will need is a one-sheet (examples: http://www.mbstia.com/onesheet_2.htm http://www.mbstia.com/onesheet_1.htm http://www.bdcdistribution.com/onesheet.htm You will need to send them a professionally produced CD and if they are interested, they will contact you. Before you send them anything, contact them via email or phone and aske them if they are looking for new product to distribute. most are, but some aren't. They may also want to know where you're playing- a national distributor is going to be less likeley to distribute you if you aren't playing nationally. But you just have to contact them to ask. A good resource is the Musician's Atlas (www.musiciansatlas.com) It has resources for finding studios, clubs, radio stations, agents, distributors, publishers, etc etc for about every genre in the country. Also look here http://www.deepmusicdistribution.com/ http://www.cmcdistribution.com/ http://www.infinitymusicdistribution.com/company.htm There are some online distributors as well. I use a couple of them. Hope this helps. Best of luck!
