Members ts8586
Do you folks normally tune your bottom tom heads a bit higher or a bit lower than the top head? Just wondering, I've been experimenting lately, and I'm still up in the air as far as what I like better. Have a good day or night, whenever you read this! Members Lysakoski
I tune my reso higher than the batter. I dunno, I just prefer the sound - to my ears it's more tonal rather than a flat "thud". I play pretty large drum sizes so there's still plenty of "oomph" tho. Members headmasterchaos
Tight batter, less tight reso. I've been recording with the reso heads off and I've been getting a pleasing "popping" sound.
Members Wideyed Gecko
I like the pleasing "dip" in tom sound that comes from tuning the reso higher than the batter.
