Members RockBass
Well, if you know what you want, just comparison shop. Bring in online quotes to a local music store and see if they'll match 'em.

Members Bang
Let me give you a tip. Guitar Center has a baseline price, and then a price that is the absolute lowest they can go. Its usually a bit less then baseline, sometimes a lot less. Go to GC, ask for your drumheads, and after they quote the price, look the guy or girl in the eye, and say "hey, whats the absolute best price you can give me". In my experience, they usually hook me up. I hear ya about drum heads, they get expensive as hell!!Steven
Members twosticks
When I was younger, a drums only shop had an all time special "Buy a complete set of heads, get half off" (at least set of batters for a five piece or bigger) I used that deal at least once and one other time at another shop. I didn't need a bass drum head, so I asked if I got heads for the 8" and 10" toms would that count and it did. So might ask if you get a complete set, if they will take half off, and see where they go from there. Worth a try and if you're getting a whole set of heads, a good shop will work with you.
