Members Bronze_Addict
I have a DW 7000 series double pedal and was wondering what the difference is between it and the 5000 series. A friend told me that the 5000 is a better pedal but, I don't see any differences other that the red fittings and bottom plate. Can someone please enlighten me? Other than the number on the foot board and the colored stuff I see no difference.
Members vinniewannabe
the 7000 is cheap made with cheaper materials than the 5000......still the 7000 may be a good enough pedal for you albeit not as durable etc.... I've played DW's all my drumming life and the big difference is the 7000 is "shaky" compared to the 5000's and up...doesn't feel as sturdy. Members controlledburn
I think the 5000 has a double chain - also more heavy-duty materials. I have a 5000 that must be 15 years old and it's still going strong. I'm sure the 7000 is good for most purposes, though - a good mid-level piece of equipment. My 7000 has a double chain also. Ok I see now I think. The 5000 has red, black and silver and the 7000 is just black and silver. That's where the big price difference comes from because, other than color, they appear exactly the same. LMAO

Members trackman
7000 comes with turbo drive double chain only... 5000 has 3 optional drives of your choice, the 5000 also has the bearing hinge, wider footboard and also comes with a case and memory locks... 5000 also has a very light shaft and universals between the two pedals...
