I'm assuming you mean drum shells. I wouldn't use alcohol--it could be a solvent of a lacquer finish or, if your shells are wrapped a solvent of the glue/tape. I'd use something milder.

 

I use a swiffer for dust, Trick wipes for my lacquer finish, and Windex for chrome hardware.

 

And I use old cotton T-shirts rather than paper towels, which can scratch a finish.

I used to have a Big R Rogers kit in Silver Mist and when I got it, it was a mess...I contacted Bobby Chaisson and he said to use Dawn dish detergent to clean the drums and it worked great. The chrome was in bad shape also and I used Simichrome for that, which is something auto restorers use. You don't need alot and it puts a protective coating on the chrome.

If they are covered drums...I've always used windex... had on my Imperialstar kit for 10 yrs... now that they have windex without amonia- I use that on my rockstar it.- shines up the chrome quite well IMO.

 

other then that...use a soft damp towel
