Members the.noumena
Is there an alternative to cleaning drums other than buying products...Could I just use alcohol? Thanks....
Members drumtechdad
I'm assuming you mean drum shells. I wouldn't use alcohol--it could be a solvent of a lacquer finish or, if your shells are wrapped a solvent of the glue/tape. I'd use something milder. I use a swiffer for dust, Trick wipes for my lacquer finish, and Windex for chrome hardware. And I use old cotton T-shirts rather than paper towels, which can scratch a finish. Members Carminemw
I Pledged mine every night to cut the smoke from the shells. Nightclubs can be a bitch on a kit...
Members cougar
I used to have a Big R Rogers kit in Silver Mist and when I got it, it was a mess...I contacted Bobby Chaisson and he said to use Dawn dish detergent to clean the drums and it worked great. The chrome was in bad shape also and I used Simichrome for that, which is something auto restorers use. You don't need alot and it puts a protective coating on the chrome. Members TAMA_Tom
If they are covered drums...I've always used windex... had on my Imperialstar kit for 10 yrs... now that they have windex without amonia- I use that on my rockstar it.- shines up the chrome quite well IMO. other then that...use a soft damp towel
