Members qwertyMan
Anybody here have any experience with these heads? I was probably going to re-head my kit to Coated Ambassadors, but I just heard about these, and was wondering how they compare.
Members Sytubs
The suede ambs act closer to emperor weight. They are thicker sounding than coated ambs. They are nice, a touch darker sounding.

Members boomboomdrums
When I saw Billy Cobham in Seattle in 2004, that's what he was running. Sounded great to me. I considered buying some to try out, but haven't. You can see a picture of Billy, my brother, and I on my myspace page. I asked him about his sound. Was it the heads? The sticks? How he hit the drums, etc? He said it was not about hitting the drum or the heads or the sticks. It was about "pulling the sound out of the drums". You don't "hit" a drum, you "pull the sound out of it". Interesting. Not sure I understand it, but if that's what he says, there must be something to it. Personally I think technique has more to do with a drum sound than a lot of of give credit to.
