Members michaelg1987
So my nephew (he's rather young) wants to get into drumming. His mother, fearing that he'll lose interest in the near future, has only agreed to get him a snare drum. She is not budging on her position that he will not receive other pieces of the kit until he has shown devotion and interest over a period of time with his snare drum (I think it should have been a bass drum, but it's too late for that, it has already been ordered). I'm a guitarist, and have been for a while. It'd be awesome to have my nephew to jam with, so I'm trying to keep him motivated. My question is, can someone give me some ideas for material that he might be able to play behind my guitar using just that snare drum? I'm pretty solid and will overlook my taste in music in order to play stuff that will be simple enough for him to get started with (using just one drum). One song that I've heard with just a light snare for rhythm is when somebody covered Staind - So Far Away.
