Members qwertyMan
I just scored a 19" Zildjian prototype ride (heavily hammered, and very dry) for $150! I'm really happy about it. The logo is fading, and it doesn't say "sound lab" or whatever Zildjian stamps on their prototypes, but that's what it was listed as on the computers in the store, and I believe them. Besides, it sounds great.

Members qwertyMan
Well, I'll have to borrow someone's camera, 'cause I don't own one. Think of a Constantinople, except with that swirly-type shallow lathing they do on their K-customs. It's much more dry than a Constantinople though. Members RumStik
Good score! Now just remove the rest of that logo, and you'll have a prime piece of pie.

It is a little ugly from fading, but I think I'll keep it. It's my first Zildjian pie, anyways.

Members qwertyMan
You call it ugly, I call it character. It's ugly and beautiful at the same time. I guess it would be ugly on an A custom for example. Works on K's though.

Members qwertyMan
Unfortunately, no. I don't have any real recording gear. And my drums are in a cement basement Maybe if I come across a friend with some recording gear, I could do a sample for you guys.
Members cearleywine
it's hammered like the k custom dry's but the lathing looks like the a's. I bet it's awesome. Nice find.

I thought you'd like it It actually has this lathing that's barely visible from the photo, but is characteristic of the K Customs where it's a very definitive spiral, where each ring is separated by about 1/2 cm, but it barely scratches into the surface of the cymbal. On the bottom, there's more of a traditional lathing, however.
